Winter Mini-Sportive Series
Winter is well and truely upon us - and we know that as the weather gets worse it gets harder and harder to get yourself out for those all important winter miles. So we've put together a series of six 'mini-Sportives' to take us through the winter - with one event a month taking place in October, November, December, January, February and March.
The format is designed to be simple, and cheap!! There will be no electronic timing or feed stations, and the routes won't be the gut busting ones you'd expect in the height of summer - but other than that, they'll be everything else you expect from a sportive...
A few freebies when you sign on
Comprehensively and clearly way-marked route
Route card with emergency contact number
Free car parking (and plenty of it)
Mechanical support and 1st aid
Changing and toilets available at the HQ
Hot drinks and cake/refreshments after the ride (included in price)
Each event will be limited to 100 riders, and will cost just £6.00 to enter.
The routes are designed to give you an enjoyable, and challenging ride without trying to blow you to pieces, it is the off-season afterall!! And distances are toned down too, with two routes available at each event of approx. 45 and 60 miles. The ideal way to make sure you continue to get those big rides in at least once a month. The events will be very relaxed, starting at 9am (with registration from 8.30am) with the aim of getting you all back by just after lunch / early afternoon, the perfect way to clock up those much needed winter miles.
To enter, simply click the links to the right to be taken through to the EntryCentral online entry system. During checkout you will be able to enter more than one event in the series at a time to make it easier for you.
Event details are as follows:
HQ: Performance Cycles, Unit One Butts Courtyard, Poulton GL7 5HY (please note, if you are using SatNav to find us TomTom units will often send you into Cirencester, not out to Poulton!!). There is plenty of free parking at the HQ.
Registration: Registration opens at 8.30am on the morning of the event - where you'll be given details for the days ride.
Event Info: The route will be fully signed with a support vehicle out should you need a hand. As the routes are only 45 and 65 miles there will be no feed stations out on the course - but there are plenty of places on the route for you to stop if needed. Please note that we cannot send out .gpx / sat nav files in advance of the event - as we may have to make last minute (major!!) changes to the route due to weather and road conditions.
