Workshop & Servicing

Performance Cycles has a fully equipped workshop - enabling us to take on almost any job, no matter how large or small. We operate an on-site workshop facility with the express aim of getting your bike back to you as quickly as possible - without compromises on the quality of the work.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail in the workshop – and do not compromise on the quality of our work, ever. All our mechanics are highly trained and fussy individuals and we are proud to be recognised as a Campagnolo Pro Shop (one of only a handful in the country). We're happy to assess any bike, free of charge, and then let you know what the work will cost.

We offer three main levels of service - but are more than happy to quote for individual jobs that may need attending too, we keep our prices competitive and will keep you informed of the progress every step of the way.

Basic service & safety check (Bronze Service) - £35.00

This level of service checks and tunes brakes and gears – and also enables us to check over the bike to make sure it is safe to ride. This is the very minimum any bike should have that hasn’t been used for a period of time, or one that you’ve purchased from an on-line retailer.

Standard service (Silver Service) - £60.00

(recommended every 3-9 months, depending on usage)
A full service of your bike, including cleaning and checking all parts. Any additional parts required will be charged for - however the labour time to fit them won’t be.

Full re-build service (Gold Service) - £120.00

(recommended every 12-18 months, depending on usage)
As its name suggests this service involves the complete strip and re-build of your bike. The bike is stripped back to the frame, and then every individual component is cleaned, checked and lubricated. This level of service is ideal for your bike after it’s done a long winters riding, or your to get your race bike prepared for the season ahead – or if you race cross, then you might need a couple of these a season to keep your bike going!! Due to the nature of this level of service you'll also need to factor in bar tape and a cable set (unless you're running an electric groupset / hydro brakes of course!!). Any additional parts required such as bearings etc will be charged extra for - however the labour time to fit them won’t be.

Because of the size of our premises, we operate a strict booking system for workshop work – therefore if you want to get your bike booked in please call us on 01285 851946 to arrange a slot. We cannot store bikes for long, therefore bikes can only be dropped off at the beginning of the week they are scheduled to be worked on, or the Saturday before at the earliest (unless by special arrangement), we also asked that completed work is collected as promptly as possible – and sadly have to charge a storage charge of £2.50 per day that the bike is with us after it’s agreed collection date.
