Performance Cycles has a fully equipped workshop at our base at Summer Lake enabling us to take on almost any job, no matter how large or small – without compromises on the quality of the work.

We pride ourselves on our attention to detail in the workshop – and do not compromise on the quality of our work, ever. All our mechanics are highly trained and fussy individuals and we are proud to be recognised as both a Shimano Service Centre and a Campagnolo Pro Shop (one of only a handful in the country and the longest running of any!).
Our workshop team of Steve Black and Mark Sealey (formerly of 99 Bikes / Hargroves Cycles Swindon) bring with them a wealth of experience across all cycling disciplines. For the 2024 summer season we have invested in new equipment to ensure that we only use the best quality tools and equipment to maintain your rides !
Standard Service – £59.00
Also known as a basic service. This is the minimum required service for any bike. (Recommended every 3 – 6 months.)
Our Standard service includes…
- Brakes safety checked and realigned.
- Gears checked, indexed and lubricated.
- Cranks safety checked and tightened to correct torque.
- Headset and handlebar assembly safety checked and tightened to correct torque.
- Seat post removed, cleaned and refitted with fresh grease / carbon grip and tightened to correct torque.
- Tyres checked for wear / damage and inflated to recommended pressure.
- Recommendations noted for future work.

StandardPlus Service – £99.00
Our middle of the road, most popular, go to service. This service is needed for parts to be replaced or to remedy a single issue. (Recommended every 3 – 12 months.)
Our StandardPlus service includes…
- Everything from our Bronze service.
- Degreasing of chain and cassette in our bioremediating parts washer.
- Frame polished and assessed for damage.
- Replacement of up to three standard parts (such as cassette, chain, chainrings).
- Firmware updates charged at an additional £20

Ultimate Service – £190.00
Also known as a full service. A full strip and rebuild of your bike, ideal for targeting creaks. The only service available if you have headset issues and your cables run through it! (Recommended every 12 months.)
Our Ultimate service includes…
- Everything from our Bronze and Silver services.
- Bike fully stripped, meticulously cleaned, inspected and rebuilt.
- True and tension of both wheels.
- Bleeding of brakes if applicable.
- Electronic diagnostics and firmware update if applicable.
- Servicing of bottom bracket, headset, front hub, rear hub and freehub body.

Booking and storage…
Because of the size of our premises, our workshop operates on a strict booking in system. Therefore if you want to get your bike booked in please call us on 01285 851946 to arrange a slot.
We cannot store bikes for long, bikes can only be dropped off at the beginning of the week they are scheduled to be worked on, or the Saturday before at the earliest.
We also asked that completed work is collected as promptly as possible and sadly have to charge a storage charge of £2.50 per day that the bike is with us after it’s agreed collection date.

A surcharge is applied for fitting and customer supplied parts not originally purchased from us.
Every bike that comes through the workshop is subject to a minimum of a Bronze service so that we can be sure it is safe to ride when it leaves us.
